Entries Open soon for the 2027 RIAS Awards

If you’ve completed an outstanding project in Scotland, we’d love to see it.

Since 2002, the RIAS Awards have celebrated and championed outstanding architecture across Scotland, showcasing the creativity, ambition and quality of the profession.

Over the years, RIAS Award-winning projects have demonstrated just how varied Scottish architecture can be, from a moveable microhouse on the Isle of Skye to an outdoor pool pavilion in Aberdeenshire and a new facility for women in custody at HMP & YOI Stirling.

Shortlisted projects have included Scotland’s first Passivhaus-certified primary school, impressive new buildings for Scottish universities and a new headquarters at the home of Scottish golf.

Award FAQs

  • " The awards process gives us the opportunity to take a breath, reflect on our successes and celebrate them. It provides an op portunity for marketing whilst providing additional heft to our bids. It also allows us to compare against our competitors and contemporaries across the industry and understand our place in relation to them"

—Stallan-Brand on winning the 2025 Doolan Award with Union Terrace Gardens

  • "Fraser Livingstone Architects enjoyed a double awards success with our Simon Square project picking up a RIAS Award 2024 and the RIAS & Scottish Forestry/ Confor Timber Award 2024. We’re delighted for our client and very happy that this type of construction has been appreciated by the judges and it’s our hope that this will contribute to an awareness within the profession that CLT is viable for a developer led market and will contribute to the increasing demand for Scottish timber to be used in this way.

  • "It has been a real privilege to receive the ‘Project Architect Award for 2024’. A huge thanks to our client, New Gorbals Housing Association, for providing a great brief and the support of a wonderful community. I also want to thank the wider design team and contractor for their hard work in making the vision for the site a reality.
